While waiting I decided to play around with my iPhone.

I was curious to see how well the 3g network worked in the middle of Orefield, Pa. I was a bit disappointed.

According to the Speed Test iPhone app I’m only getting 256kbps here. I guess I should be glad that I’m getting any signal. What it is telling me though is that 5 bars of service doesn’t equate to fast 3G.

I kind of feel bad for the person who left their lights on.

This summer, neuroscientist Ian Robertson polled 3,000 people and found that the younger ones were less able than their elders to recall standard personal info. When Robertson asked his subjects to tell them a relative’s birth date, 87 percent of respondents over age 50 could recite it, while less than 40 percent of those under 30 could do so. And when he asked them their own phone number, fully one-third of the youngsters drew a blank. They had to whip out their handsets to look it up.

The interview discusses in length GMs up coming electric car the Volt.

GM Volt in Shanghai

Mr. Lutz understands the skepticism behind any electric car initiative from GM or any of the big 3. He addresses this by establishing a “sneak preview” program so that journalists and the media can see the car through it’s various stages of development.

The intention is to have this car production ready by Q4 2010, Q1 2011.

I hope it’s as cool as the Tesla Motors Roadster, slated for release next year.
